Realistic challenge 3 has taken hours upon hours to complete, and it's taken tons of bug testing and double-checking to make sure that we can say that all that time spent is well-worth the labor, because we now can happily release this challenge to you guys.Remember, this challenge, like all the others, is simulated. But we have done our best to make the simulation as real as possible, and I must say myself that it is very realistic indeed. Over the next few days we will be testing the challenge more to make sure that everything truly is as realistic as possible, but we didn't want to postpone this release any longer.
Realistic 3 is worth 200 challenge points. Good luck!
The New Download SectionOk so we made some modifications to the new download section.
At this point in time members can upload files to the download section as long as they conform to the following :
file size: max 2mb in size
file type: zip, rar, tar, exe, tar.gz, txt,pdf
All files that are uploaded must be site related and/or of interest to our members all other files will be deleted.
When uploading a file please try and add a decent description of the files nature so we can keep this db looking nice.
Also no files that are copyright protected are allowed to be uploaded. If a member does upload a copyright protected file it will be considered a site rule violation and handles accordingly.
If you have something that you would like to upload that does not fit into a existing category and you believe it should have its own category just upload it to the general category and pm a staff member with what new category you wish to add.
Please remember allowing members to use the upload feature is a privileged if abused this privilege will be removed.
Privilege Escalation Level 4 is out worth 60 pts. Stack Based Buffer OverflowYour Objective:
Obtain the password for Username:level5.
Realistic 2 is out worth 150 ptsThis is the old realistic 1 for the old school guys.
Background: You have been hired by a government agency to hack into a private security company's computer system. The company has stumbled across a top secret Emergency Action Message (EAM) luckily for us the msg is encrypted but they are working hard to decrypt the code.
Objective: Gain level 1 access to their computer system and delete the EAM before it can be decrypted.
We now have a Bugtracker to help us all report and fix any issues that may come up on the site.So please submit any feature requests / mods / or bugs to the Bugtracker this will help the Security Override staff divide and conquer. This is also handy because I'm very forgetful. So if you have brought up an issue in the past that has not been fixed yet please submit it to Bugtracker and also any new issues.
The Bugtracker is located here http://securityoverride.com/infusions/roadmap/roadmap.php and also there is link in the navbar under SecurityOverride.
Please don't be shy about submitting bug's even little ones all the staff is very O.C.D. about the site and would like to now every little thing that needs fixing.
